Radiology
This service is led by Dr Phil McMillan, Consultant Radiologist. Working alongside him are Dr Ali Sever and Dr Phillipa Mills, also Consultant Radiologists. All currently hold NHS posts at Maidstone Hospital. We have a purpose built plain film x-ray room incorporating the latest equipment from Siemens Healthcare with printing of x-ray films processed by Kodak equipment. Plain film x-rays are undertaken by our team of Senior Radiographers:
All x-ray films are then formally reported by one of the Consultant Radiologists. Results are forwarded to the referring GP or Consultant specialist within a very short turn around period so that patients can be assured of the best quality of service. In addition to plain x-rays we can also perform a variety of ultrasound scans using our latest technology GE Voluson 730 ultrasound machine. This enables us to provide to patients a new dimension in imaging quality – this being the most technologically advanced 3D & 4D scanning equipment available. Scans are performed either by a Consultant Radiologist, Gynaecologist or qualified radiographer. Services include: • Ultrasounds of abdomen, pelvis and carotids plus many other areas of the body. Currently we do not have facilities to undertake MRI / CT Scans but have an arrangement with a local imaging centre for patients to have this done.
