Children

The staff at Kings Hill Medical Centre take great pride in the care that is provided for children and young people.

Kidstlc is a locally based service which has assessed the facilities at the Medical Centre, helping to create a child friendly environment whilst raising awareness with the in-house staff.

Their team provides children’s trained nurses to ensure appropriate care for children and young people based on the Healthcare Commission guidelines.

Currently the Medical Centre is able to see children in the out-patient department only, no procedures can be carried out. This is within the following specialties and stated age ranges only:

• Dermatology – 3 years of age and over
• ENT – 3 years of age and over
• Orthopaedics –13-18 years
• Rheumatology –13-18 years
• Gynaecology –13-18 years

Sister Eleanor Jeans is the experienced and fully qualified Paediatric Nurse Adviser for Kings Hill Medical Centre. Eleanor is also responsible for all the child specific policies, guidelines and age appropriate information and provides the mandatory on site training of Child Protection for all staff at the Medical Centre.

Sisters Sally Holt & Alison Spens provide the on site “hands on” supervision of all clinics when children are being seen.

A range of leaflets are available in the waiting room at the Medical Centre which relate to children of all ages.
